Spanish Popular Novel

This digital collection includes Spanish popular novels from their beginnings in the 19th century through the mid-20th century. The novels were sold primarily at newsstands and by subscription in the form of booklets or single chapters. They cover a wide range of subjects, including detective novels, novels about the Wild West, adventure and romance novels, science fiction, and fantasy literature. A large part of the objects comes from the Fernando Eguidazu Collection, which has been at the Ibero-American Institute since 2018. The collection is continuously being expanded and enlarged at the IAI.
